Geometryzowanie malarstwa odczuwam jako specyficzny algorytm - geometria wyciąga z idei pierwiastek, by potem podnieść jej doznawanie do kwadratu. I o ile w rzeczywistości geometria służy wytyczaniu granic, o tyle w malarstwie potrafi owe granice otworzyć. W działaniach człowieka podziwiam intelekt - stąd inspiracje architekturą, emocjonalność - stąd personifikacja brył i wrażliwość werbalną - stąd inspiracje poezją. Zagadnienie te spina geometria. Możliwie osobista. Karolina Jaklewicz |
"The form is only an expression of the content." Wassily Kanidnsky
By quoting words by Wasilly Kandinsky as a motto, I would like to emphasize the way I chose using the geometric solutions: I strive to use the geometry as a language expressing itself not only in form, but also in content. In my works I consistently look for solutions which make geometry not only analytical or intellectual game, but which allow me to breathe the emotional, personal and metaphysical apect into geometric solids and surfaces. I feel an inner need of geometry - for me it is a way of universalization of personal experciences and observations, gives me the comfort of distance and discretion. It is a universal language, and yet possible for individual annexation. Staight line is a longing for space organizing - also the mental one, the inner experience. Regarding the hyperactive reality I live in, the geometry helps me to create the illusion of harmony. In geometring painting, I also appreciate the opportunity of pure message, expressing the essence of idea. I consider geometrizing the painting as a specific algorithm - geometry draws from the idea the element, to raise it's experiencing to the square. While in real life the geometry is marking out boundaries, in painting it opens these boundaries. All of my painting assumptions I see as a relation between what is natural and invented by man, between rational and emotional, planned and random. This relationship is sometimes a struggle, attempt to coexistence, mutual support. In nature, I am fascinated by the scattering phenomenons - like fog, light, clouds, smoothness, glare. In human activities I admire the intelect - hence the architecture inspiration, emotions - hence the solid personification and the verbal sensitivity - hence the poem inspiration. All those issues are connect by geometry. Personal as possible. Karolina Jaklewicz |
